5 Tips for Spring Cleaning Your Finances

Spring is in the air! WIth the warmer weather, you may be thinking about spring cleaning your home. While you are at it, why not do some spring cleaning for your finances? Here are 5 tips:

1- Review your spending habits:

Examine your spending. What is and isn’t working for you? What are some purchasing habits that are adding up? Identify one problem area, and set a goal to change this habit. Maybe it’s eating out less or not stopping for a coffee every single morning.

2- Go paperless:

Most accounts these days have a paperless billing option. Not receiving all those paper bills in the mail can cut back on those papers piling up. You may also receive a monthly discount for going paperless.

3- Use auto-pay whenever possible:

Are you still logging in and making monthly payments? Sign up for auto-pay whenever possible. Auto-pay is a sure way to never have a late payment.  This will give you one less thing to worry about each month, and save you time.

 4- Start an emergency fund:

If you haven’t already, start an emergency savings.  Emergencies happen whether we are prepared for them or not. Having a savings means you don’t need to borrow money and pay interest to cover the cost of the emergency.
